Writing - Poetry...

Mother and Daughter...
Looking over the sleeping figure of my baby in silence
Tears flowing, with my thoughts upon the horizon
Clock ticking in the silence of the dark night
Calmly and peacefully dreaming of clouds of white

With my silent wish - tiny stars in heaven above
I pray to guide and protect this one I love.
Look over her, guide her, protect her and keep her safe
The world is not perfect and violence makes it unsafe

With my limited time with her I hope I can teach
All the importance of love, the soul and God I preach
The amazing gift and contributions she'll offer the world
Will be worth rainbow pots filled with honey and gold.

Lying down beside her as I drift off to sleep
Tight in each other's arms so free.
The longing of wanting time to stand still
To play forever in this special garden of our will.
Elephant...
Dust hanging in the air around my legs, I looked down at the sand below
The breeze flapping through my ears the whistling sounds of long ago
My mind wanders back to the time of my ancestor herd and breed
Everything was covered in ice, the wind dancing in the air with need

Snapped back to reality with human's voices echoing through the air
As they are gathered around my cage thinking my habitat here is fair
Smoke hanging in the air, plastic bands and garbage everywhere to be seen
Longing for my ancient memories wild and free, meadows and fields ever so green

Sharing a small piece of ground with a few more of my kind
Thankful I should be, alone and loneliness I could have find
Long ago we lived together families, clans, and subpopulations
Forever under our eldest leader lead and lived with our close relations

Footsteps on the ground knowing your feeding time is not far behind
From this living I cannot hide, fear and pride is all in mind
I'm well taken care of, out here rain drops wash all over me,
My own little piece of home where I am free
